Second Year...Final Year

LeAnn Wills

Yesterday marked the beginning of my second, and final, year pursing my masters degree. I am filled with excitement to be one step closer to finishing this degree, and pursing doctoral work, yet saddened. I have loved my time at Vanderbilt thus far and have enjoyed working with the professors and cohort. This has been a time of growth-both professionally and personally. Every assignment I have done, article I have read, and class I have taken has been providing me with well-rounded knowledge.

As I look to this final year I am excited for what is to come. I am serving as the community service chair for our Eta Delta Chi chapter of Chi Sigma Iota: Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International. I am both excited and honored to hold this position and share my love of community service with members of the organization. Within this role I will be planning a community service event for our organization, as well as working with members one on one to identify and connect with organizations they can volunteer with. Community serive is a wonderful way we can give back to our communities and support one another. You never know, volunteering at an organization may open your eyes to a passion you didn't realize you held! Service is beautiful.

I look forwarding to taking in every moment like a sponge. Moving towards graduation sets in the reality that I am one step closer towards officially being a counselor. I am so excited to get to be a part of the wellness journey of others. I look forward to continued growth, development, and education. I plan to attend seminars and upcoming trainings to further develop my skill set and will be seeking every chance I can to grow in this profession.

All my love,

LeAnn Wills
